This course is designed for beginners discovering pattern-making through straight fits, interpreting a fashion drawing, creating a skirt and its variations, a blouse with details, a lined dress and even an introduction to trousers.
This course will give you the skills you need to get started, and for those who want to go further in terms of professionalisation, access to the "advanced" level.

Introduction to draping and creation of a personal model
Training Programme
Step 1: Skirt by drawing:
- Creation of the straight skirt and assembly of the entire canvas
- Transformations to the basic skirt
Step 2: Blouse by drawing:
- Widening
- Use of clips
- Armholes / sleeves / collars
Step 3: Dress by draping:
- Introduction to skirt and bodice draping
- Making a dress from fabric
- Fitting with lining
Step 4: An introduction to the creation and assembly of a prototype pair of trousers.
- Underbust, fly and waistband assembly
Since 1841, our teachings and know-how have been based on the method of making clothes developed by Alexis Lavigne, the founder of ESMOD, almost 180 years ago!
