CLO3D - Beginner level

In a few words

Clo3D is aimed primarily at creative people who want to express their ideas in 3D; it also offers gradation and numerous pattern-making functions. It is easy to use and resembles the Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop user interfaces that fashion designers are used to.

Prerequisites :

Have a basic knowledge of pattern-making and be comfortable using computers

Description

Objectives
 

  • Move around the 3D interface with confidence, move objects and patterns

  • Import your own patterns

  • Know how to sew different patterns together and modify them

  • Start the rendering engine and render your first images of 3D clothing.

Training Programme

Discover the CLO3D tool

​

  • Discover what can be done with the software, for current and future fashion.

  • Discover the software interface.

  • Discover navigation: how to move around in 3D space and move objects.

  • Assembling and sewing the first clothes.

​

Creating with CLO3D

  • Discover the following features:

Free sewing, topstitching, placing graphics on the product, drawing 3D yokes on the mannequin, gathers, pleats, zips, buttons, setting fabric properties, all-over patterns, importing patterns from AI/Photoshop into Clo3D, drawing patterns directly in Clo3D

  • Translate your drawings into 3D: get your sketch and we will learn how to transform it into a 3D model (the result will depend on the complexity of the garment chosen)

Share

  • Discover the Clo3D animation tool using the default animations offered by the software

  • Discover Clo3D's rendering engine, lighting functions, different export formats, fabric settings and how to optimise graphics parameters for the computer.
